On this event, the Chapter will launch the Project Management Maturity Survey 2018 that will run through the 30th June 2018. The results from the survey will inform on the maturity level of project management in organizations operating in Tanzania. This will create a benchmark and form indicative training needs assessment for project management professionals.

Peter Ulanga is a seasoned Telecommunications/ICT professional with over 20 years of experience in operations, regulation and provision of ICT services in rural and underserved areas. In 2009, he was appointed as the first CEO to setup the Universal Communications Service Access Fund of Tanzania (UCSAF) and start its operations. He still holds that position to date.
He has extensive knowledge of ICT sector development. He acquired this experience in his previous work in Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited and in Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority, his notable contributions in the Regulatory Authority include, leading the costing study for interconnection and in the development of converged licensing framework. He has extensive experience in networks planning and operations, policy, legal and regulations. He uses his analytical skills to chart way forward within UCSAF.
He is also active in standardisation work in ITU-T for over 15 years where he held leadership positions in several of the committees of Study Group 5. He has participated in several international conferences as a speaker and a panellist. He is a hobbyist programmer with extensive knowledge in Python, Android and Swift programming. When he is not busy he takes his Canon DSLR camera and takes nature and wildlife photos.
Peter has a Masters’ Degree in Telecommunications from University of Essex, United Kingdom (Awarded with Distinction), MBA from University of Southern Queensland, Australia and Bachelors of Science in Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam (Honours). He is a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and he is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania. He volunteers to part time teaching at the University of Dar es Salaam.
